[iceCube], the innovative personal cooling system, was developed especially for the requirements of emergency workers, who wear protective suits to protect them from high temperatures.

The [iceCube] makes use of cold storage elements with phase change material with a high energy storage density. The air in the protective suit is circulated over the surface of the cold storage elements, which cools it. Prior to use, the cold storage elements have to be frozen in a cooling unit.

The cooling effect is especially high in the upper body and head area.
